First impression are...ok. I bought this for the 70-200 and Sigma 18-35. They were put into the same packet and the only labels were small paper stickers...which had come off during shipping so it was a bit of guesswork to figure out which Band It went on which lens. Trial and error sorted it. I think they are looser than I was expecting. The material is very soft and quite elastic, which may be by design. It reminds me of the material that those sticky rubber grip pads use. And as such they are clearly dust and hair magnets - within 5 mins mine had dog hair on them. The band width isn't quite perfect on the Sigma bands - the grips are slightly smaller. The 70-200mm seemed to match better. As they are slightly looser than I expected they do slip up and down a bit which isn't ideal. I mean the edges of the bands can move up and down and cover some of the lens markings. Another issue is that the Sigma focusing band unfortunately means you cannot stow the lens hood reversed (as I do normally). Usage wise they turn the rings smoothly enough. I cannot say if they help any more, which is why I bought them, and I would want to test them thoroughly before concluding. I like that they will prevent lens creep and perhaps in cold situations whilst wearing gloves they'll make it easier to control the zoom and focusing rings. Perhaps the rubberised grip will also make handling easier and add some protection to the lenses too. For the money I'm a little disappointed if I'm honest. They are not some revolutionary solution to handling focus or zoom rings. They don't fit quite snugly enough to prevent some movement off the rings and the material is the type of rubber/silicone (whatever it is) that things stick to. I'll update my review after more of a long term test.
To loose of a fit. Came off as soon as I placed it in my bag.
It seems to meet all of my expectations.
Would have liked the sizing to be similar in size as the manufacturers focus and zoom grip.
